Erratic clutch problems XR 8

Hi guys
I am having a few problems with my clutch. It happerns after I give it some ponys in first and do a quick gear change into second and third gear. now the problem is the clutch peddel get very heavy and does not operate untill I push it all the way to the floor. then after about 2-5mins when driving normaly, it returns to normal. Also the clutch is not slipping in any gear when driven hard either so it has got me buggerd. it is going into ford on thursday and the techy and I are going for a drive to recreate the problem.

But it would be helpfull if a few of the boys on the forum could suggest what the problem might be. As you all know the ford service center are usully
usless and blame it on some thing else. Also 2 heads are better then 1

Regards mcdennis1

You have the 6 speed don't you mcdennis.....have had no problems with mine yet!!

Could be the result of that drive when you took the video

I still have that on my PC and when I'm feeling a bit down I stick it on and it still brings a smile to my dial!!!

Cheers

Brad

Re: Erratic clutch problems XR 8

i had my clutch looked at in my ef xr.the clutch gets heavy after a while, so what my tech said it is either because the cone gets a little bit dry or its because the clutch cable cover(the outer black cover) gets warm because of the extractors and makes the cable a bit tighter due to the heat and wont release.
