Accurate Prediction Number 79

FPV today announced the introduction of retail incentives on all 2003 plated GT/GT-p models to assist dealers with moving their stocks to more reasobnable levels.

A quick search today revealed something in the order of 450 vehicles in dealer land and the list is growing daily.

Present incentives amount to a relatively minor $2,000 per unit, with a further $1,500 for ABN quoters ... and of course the dealers will trash most of their $3,000 margin.

In Vic I've alreasdy been quoted a manual GT with leather and sound for $60,000 neat on road. RRP is $63,500 + $1495 DD + $3,750 ORC for a total of $68,745 so the discount is near enough to $9,000.

Prediction No. 80

This is going to get a lot uglier before it's finished.

After my experiences I couldn't give a damn. FPV are hopeless and the vehicle quality is abhorrent. I think the discounting is a good thing because the cars were overpriced especially given the US dollar supply side savings they've been getting.
