Fairlaine knocks off Statesman

I know it's VERY early days, but never-the-less, The latset Go Auto E News mentions that in July the Fairlaine knocked off the Statesman within the Prestige class 468 vs 406 with Accord Euro selling 656 for top spot.

Great one Ford.

Re: Fairlaine knocks off Statesman

Hi Curls,

I wonder if consider the aggregate of Fairlane/LTd to Statesman/Caprice sales. I noticed that a fair wack of Caprices were sold... didn't mention how many LTD's were sold (were the new LTD's released on the same date as the Fairlanes?)

IN ANY EVENT, THE RESULTS LOOK PROMISING FOR THE BLUE OVAL!

Re: Fairlaine knocks off Statesman

I have been told 120 LTD's were sold in July, Fairlanes sales also included dealer demo registrations, Ford required each dealer to register 1 'Lane as a demo. Same rule applies to an FPV dealer with the GT.

Re: Fairlaine knocks off Statesman

Not entirely true. There would be very few demo Fairlanes at all. We can't get enough of them here so no demos for a little while.

Ratt, that info came straight from a Ford dealer friend of mine who has a G220 demo sitting in the yard.

Re: Fairlaine knocks off Statesman

Have to say the new Fairlane looks real nice, I would never actually buy one, but, If I was in the market for a Limo it would be my first choice

Re: Fairlaine knocks off Statesman

If I were in the market for that type of vehcile, I would most certaintly go for a G220,but I just love the sport's style and image of the XR's.
