Is it possible to get the 260 engine for the Fairmont or Ghia? Just curious - after looking at that nice BA Fairmont in the forum - it would top the car off nicely with boss260

That is a question my uncle is also interested in, however, he would be more interested in getting a new Fairlane with the Boss260.
Does anyone know if this is possible on Fairmont Ghia or new Fairlanes??

that sucks... although, 220 IS enough, however, i reckon my dad will keep the tradition of buying fairmonts (ED Fairmont/EL Fairmont/AU2 Fairmont/BA Fairmont Probably), so i'd like him to get a beasty one... but then again, 220 is a vast improvement over the 182(?)kw windsor in the AU2 fairmont eh?

No, even worse, it was 175kW. the 185kW was only offered in the XR8 and LTD.

Besides,

To have the BOSS260 you would have to have the highrise bonnet which would spoil the understated toughness of the Ghia.

Better to fiddel with the 220 triton IMO

Yeap gotta agree it's a decent step up from the 175kw V8 of the AU Fairmonts.

Though i must say the band of the engine seems relatively narrow making maximum power at 4600rpm. I guess they don't need high rpm for the average fairmont buyer. Flatter torque delivery would be the go.
