My mate just picked up an ex-cop XR6T from a Sydney dealer.
Other than the excessive wear from the cops, anything he should be aware of?

The NSWPS have now configured a deal with Ford, where the Police are set to save a few million each year by purchasing Ford's only. Ford are discounting the cars dramatically in order to get all their business.
Here in SA, the only government cars you'll see are Commies and (as charity) Magnas.
When we went to Bathurst a few weeks ago we saw SS, XR6T and XR8 Hwy Patrol cars.... Obviously no brand bias with NSW government.
They even trialed a couple of WRXs for a while. Also, all NSW all Police cars must be automatic due to OH&S requirements.
(TV show) Blue Healers were all Ford once then they went to all Holdens. Now I think its got the axe, lol.
My next door neighbour bought a ex AU cop car a while back im not sure what engine it has but it its fully worked off.I think it might be a V8 but yeah she told she had to change the diff and transmission which doesnt really cost much to replace, other than that she has the fastest car in the street. The only thing though the car has all these holes inside the console. She bought it dirt cheap from the cop auction I think she payed around $3000 for it. But still BUYER BEWARE the boys in blue tend to like to drive there cars really fast.
