Hey guys I was wondering what was the first Falcon ever to be build with the 250 Injection? I heard it was the xf. Am i right if so what specs does it have??

Definitely the XE, 1983 I think

XF EFI had 120kw, not sure about the XE

Best advice I can give is never own one, worst engines ever.

Had an XE S-pak with a four speed manual and EFI.
Wasn't a fantastic engine, but was sort of alright for its day.
Usual 250 problems. I think they made about 111kw and 325Nm of torque.

So was the carby engine better then the EFI?

most definetly, the injected one would run out at 175 Ks and the carby ones would do just over 200 kph .

Sure was, I remember seeing some of the first ones on display at the Bathurst races that year.

when i was looking for a first car. had a look at a late 1983 XE, S pack

The EFI engine was a "replacement" for the V8 that Ford had stoppped producing.
It was available accross the range, but mostly found in the fairmont ghias.

The EFI's usually require a rebuild every 200,000km or so, always need tuning, and refuse to run on gas without constant problems...

Cant stress enough how much these engines should be avoided!
