ITSOVR - XR8

Hey there how are ya's

What do you guys make of this, ford letter asking for vehicle inspection due to chassis number and engine number not matching...

You will probably find that someone has put the chasis number down as the engine number. On all falcons except for XR8/GT, the engine number is the same as the chasis. On the XR8 it is very hard to read as it is located under the altinator. The person who registered your car at the dealership may have gotten lazy and forgot that the XR8 number is different.
Your engine No. should start with FPV......

Well the funny thing is this,

after taking the car to the dealer i bought it from, he made a few phone calls and then siad rather then trading in my car he would buy it

I am still on papers for a ghia territory and was considering a trade in

i know someone who had the dealer incorrectly write the chassis no. instead of the engine number, in which all boss v8's prefix with FPV

maybe thats what has happened

Weird stuff.
Have they explained to you why they want to buy it back from you?

Your engine number & chassis number should be the same.. excluding the 6 digit prefix on the chassis number.
Do your chassis & engine number match?
If not, you should decode them, and see where the difference is.
