ford dash warning symbols

Hi,

I just bought a new (secondhand) 1999 Ford Forte and a small symbol lit up on the dash that said DTE followed by some beeps. Can anyone tell me what this means and also, if I bought a manual would it have all of these symbols in it?

Thanks

It's not in the Haynes manual but it will be in the genuine Ford one. It should also be in your owner's handbook in the glovebox. I suspect it's a low fuel warning (Distance to Empty).
