From GoAuto newsletter today....

Thats right the name is out: RTV, which stands for Rugged Terrain Vehicle. Did anyone on here suggest this name?

Personally, i reckon it is a poor name, but i am sure, like most things it will grow on me

Its following todays trend of catchy letter names... CR-V, RAV4, errrmm... theres others that i cant seem to remember right now... errm.. anyway you get the point...

I guess. I am just a fan of actual names (eg. Territory and Falcon) rather than merley letters and/or numbers

It already has a name. It is called Falcon. RTV is like XR6.

Falcons have model variants with names, ie, Futura.

My entry into that naming competition was 'Endeavour', as in, Ford Falcon Endeavour ute. The idea was that this ute could go where other utes haven't been.

The dictionary says endeavour means 'To exert physical [or intellectual] strength for the attainment of; to use efforts to effect; to strive to achieve or reach' - sounds apt to me.

RTV? Don't grab me.

Venom XR, good name but way to "Smart" for a ute... some people would even call it some what sissy for a ute.... RTV sounds more "ruggered" to me.. and stupider lol..

Endeavour is for things like boats, I cant really see the typical bloke (or maybe girl) thats would buy this thing ands be proud to say that he/she owns an "endeavour"

I agree with sparkles on this on, Hi-Ride would have been fine. I guess RTV is kinda catchy. Either way I think it is a good niche vechile.
