mad Friday Sydney M Herald Drive

I see GM Australias Marketing Dept...oops I mean the SMH drive, are at it again.

It marks Falcons COTY with a small article by Joshua Dowling that starts
"Ford deserves accolades for the new Falcon.... But it no car of the year"
And then gives the rest of the article saying how it does not deserve the award, how the Commy is unbeatable for fuel economy, how it cant martch magna or camry for refinement, how driving dynamics are the same (funny everyone else says the Falcons dynamics match Euro $150K cars, and shame Merc according to Wheels).

Then it finishes with "Falcon hasnt won coty since 1966, holden has won 9 times in 40 years."

there are lies, damned lies and statistics, lwt us not forget one of holdens wins was for camira (gag) and ford have in fact won it 5 times if you want to count "all models" like they did for holden.

And I note during the week, they ran item on falcon coty in herald and went on about recalls and reliability problem. No mention of commodores numerous recalls and famous poor build quality and reliability woes....

So Joshua, what colour is your new Holden?

totally biased comments ford should never give him a c ar again.. good to see a lot of others disagree. The only thing the commonwhore has going for it is fuel economy.. with only cosmetic changes it didn't deserve to even make the selection as wheels said.. the article in the herald sun melb was much more positive even mentioning Uncle Geoff's new Italian suit.

why can't that idiot say it is good for australia and good for local industry. Apart from his blessed holden his 2nd favourite would probably be some Euro trash mobile.. Good on ya Ford stick it Holden esp as they have to wait another 4 years for new engines strike while the iron is HOT...

I am shaking my head at that article. I can't believe the sour grapes of the man. It is actually embarrising for him as nearly every other motoring journalist in the country has praised the BA. They all can't be wrong can they?

bombard them with emails saying how biased it is..

not a wise career move for him either I woudl suggest given the power of the advertising dollar. Maybe Ford could politely suggest they will withdraw all advertising from the paper forthwith until a retraction is published.

It is his right to write whatever he wants, He is the one that looks a fool when every Journo in the country is contradicting him.

If ford were to take away business because they don't like what is written then it is almost as bad as paying them to write what they want

He says that the BA will not be remembered in decades time for any ground breaking technonlogy.

OK, what about DOHC VCT? Electronic Throttle Control? Blade IRS? Adjustable pedals?

FARKING WANKER!!!

The fuel economy difference from a commodore to falcon with average driving is about 2 dollars a week. If you want cheap running costs by a LPG only falcon or commodore (that's right, holden don't build one.)
