Its OK.... The BA Falcons are supposed to stop that quickly.

What sort of problems? I have heard a few go past at low speed with the infamous VT Commodore 'out of alignment' rubbing noise. Sounds like the disc is warped when you hear it.

a bloke i work with has a 2002 xr6 ba he had shuddering in steering wheel and brake pedle

warp discs. this effects every car with front disc brakes. you can ether get them replaced, resurfaced, or change some of your driving habits. main culperate seems to be after a hard stop having the car stationary with the brakes applied for a few minutes, caliper sucks the heat out a bit and applies some force as well = warpage..

Seems to occur more when the discs and pads are new. ie <15,000 km..

I have to say that in the last 1000 or so kays I have noticed that the brakes on our BA XR6 are starting to shudder. For the record its done about 11,000km.

I have read about brakes shuddering on BA's, on the XR6 Turbo forum. However, from memory, all the cars affected had done alot less km's. I think all of them had done less than 5000km

At the moment its not to bad (it does appear to be getting worse though) however its going to see the car dealer before its 15,000km service to get it sorted out. The car also needs its front power window looked at. It flys up and really BANGS when it stops at the top.

These are the only two problems I have with the BA XR6. Which IMO is pretty bloody good considering it was an earlyish build BA. After 10,000 km it still feels very well put together. Nice and tight as well.

I have shuddering brakes as well its been doing this since around 4000km, im not going to settle for anything less than new disks. its shocking that this has happened so early in my cars life. ford machining my disks is not an option in my opinion. the disks shouldnt warp like this so early, its not as if im heavy on the brakes.

It only counts for optioned up from smaller wheels. The reason is the power steering hose is different for the bigger wheels. If it left the factory with 16's this hose may need changing. I have no idea what affect this may have and Ford are still looking into it.
