Looking at the new Wheels mag they test the G220 Fairlane. I looked at the performance times and was surprised with the figures.
0-100: 7.6
400m: 15.4 @148
I think thats quite good for a car that weighs 1835kg. And interestingly beats the XT 5.4 manual by .3 to 100km/h and .1 over the 1/4 @1km/h better with nearly 100kg more weight behind it.

You should know better than that Mr P, than to compare results from totally different times/places!
BTW has there been any auto XT V8 results published anywhere? Curious to see...

Yes, Wheels testing of the manual 5.4 XT was way off the mark so its not a real good comparo. I read a local media review on the XT 5.4 manual and it was good for around a surprising 14.6 for the 400m. The surprise is because of the gearing the XT has. The G220 has shorter gearing to improve performance and by the looks of it from Wheels, its working. MOTOR normally get better times again.
The Fairmont auto 5.4 is a better measure at around the 15 second mark, same as the Calais. This would indicate that an XT auto 5.4 would be about the same.
