Could anyone tell me the type of gearbox ive got in my 1987 XF falcon 3.3L it says on the id tag that it is a K gearbox i cant find any info any were anything would be great
Do this.
There are two 5 speeds in the XF's. One is a light box, one isn't.
Get the Slip yoke from a V8 toploader/C4/Single rail. and see if it fits your box. IF it does, then you have the stronger box which will hold up to a 302 quite nicely. (but then if you thrash it, nothing will anyhow)
Dellow Automotive can supply a bell housing for this box to go up to the 302...provided you have the heavier box.
