I'm very far off getting to a stage where I will begin pondering, "what's next?" to do with my car - I'm referring to performance mods here. So I've been wondering, we know the basis of a standard "modded" Falcon is exhaust, headers/extractors, cam and maybe a diff ratio change (or manual if you're that way inclined ) Then there's obviously things like thermofans, CAI, maybe a BBM conversion etc for those other smaller gains.
For an amateur like me, what would be next? Is this where it starts to get really expensive? Port and polishing, valve springs, timing gear etc. What would one do next pending they had done the aforementioned mods? Obviously a chip gets snuck in there to help get everything to work to their optimal levels. What costs would someone be looking at for the next stages of naturally aspirated modding and where would they start? Or would it be more feasible to look at force-fed induction?
Sorry if it's unclear, but I tried my best!
Cheers

cam is always a good cheap way to get a few gains.
the 'usual' way i see people go is
exhaust/intake/cam/diff ratio/headwork in that order...
force feeding the beast is a sure fire way to get the high hp... but it depends what ya after.
everything all at once, or staged performance.

id suggest a cam and extractors next for your car, will give a noticable difference for relativly low $$$. i know i noticed it just by putting in a fairly mild EF Cam, mainly in the top end.

Yah, Pacemakers will be the nextperformance mod. Then I will be looking into a Wade cam followed by some shorter gearing with LSD (3.9s)...
135rwkws from just that work you reckon? I thought that would be a little ambitious. Or is it that easy to get those sort of gains? Will all this sacrifice fuel efficiency?

I thought it was all too good to be true but after reading the huge "CAMS what to get thread???" it all comes together...
U'll need vernier gear and uprated springs for best results, but qwikcorty is best example....
Stock 3.9L EA MPFI with over 300,000 kays... wade 1004@112 and he got 140 at the wheels with other intake mods

ummm... crow cams sell vernier gear for bout 120, it isnt essential but will get the best from your cam, i think a regrind if u trade in your own Cam, that is if u get yours reground its about 120ish also or maybe 170 im not sure and springs i have not heard of the price..... there is other expenses but overall its well worth it

I got mine dynoed last week, and i have got 135rwkw... I have done SFA to my car... (see sig)
I agree with Supa R00 - Stiffer valve springs and vernier cam gear will get the most out of it... Valve springs and vernier gear will cost about $240 I think all up... Not bad really.
