After much reasearch on this forum i decided to get the Pacemaker tri-y headers fitted to AU XR8 III. Its being done by Professional Exhaust in Airport West, Victoria. Anyone heard things bout these guys work? Im keeping the rest of the exhaust standard for now. I hope im not dissapointed. $690 installed which i believe is the going rate from what ive heard.
I doubt weather you will feel any improvment with the pacemakers, tri-ys are the way to go though........Lets know how it goes........

Wouldn't you love to say that about your car?You loosers
you will be diappointed guaranteed.
you will get better results by changing the two mufflers for less restricting mufflers
my advice is go for a cats back system first, then later get the pacys fitted when you can afford it. I no I owened a AU11 XR8 and the standard exhaust is as bung up as an asthmatic with a head cold.
Theres a chance you would get even less performance doing headers 1st as you would get the gasses from the engine out quickly then they would get held up once they go from the headers into the actual exhaust creating even more back pressure than you had...
i think thats right, though if im wrong feel free to correct me...

Couldn't say it better.
Do the cats back first you will notice more of a drifferents then doning the headers first.
Budgie. When the boys on the forum talk about doing a cats back exhaust system. They don't mean changing the cats. Just from behind the cats and back to the tailpipe.
I actually think changing the headers first isn't a bad idea. The stock exhaust system isn't that bad at all, and the extra backpressure it creates will give you better low down power anyway. Sure it won't give you the best dyno figure, but you should see some improvements in drivability initial acceleration.
