Thumbs up GoAuto review of the Falcon XT

The GoAuto website has a lengthy review of the Falcon XT

http://www.goauto.com.au/mellor/mell...w?OpenDocument

They gave it a glowing review in all areas only disliking the fuel ecomomy and a couple of minor other things.

The "Did you know?" part at the bottom of every section provided some interesting info I have not read elsewhere. Such as:

"Ford engineers travelled to Sweden and the Arctic Circle to test the BA Falcon's new braking system and its updated traction control by driving for extended periods over snow and ice "

and

"All BA Falcon sedans are electronically speed limited to 200km/h, except XR6 Turbo and XR8 which are limited to 230kmh. All BA Falcon wagons are limited to 180km/h"

Well done again Ford.

The BA not only went to Sweden it went to the U.S. of A. ( of course). But what I find more interesting is that they are taken into our very own outback & belted along tracks & roads that would scare the bageeba's outa most 4*4 owners. Just think of a place in Ozz & chances are the BA has been there or gone past it during its development. Just think next time you are cruising in your Toorack tractor, along the Birdsville track, or the Oodnadata track or wherever, that Falcon flying past you is probably getting tested.

hmm, wasn't there a pic in Motor or Wheels, a fair while ago, that showed an AUII Falcon running around the Nürburgring in BA running gear?

230 is a bit stingy for cars of this caliber........hopefully for BAII they be able to increase it to at least 250-260 to match the Germans.
