good price plus rego and insurance plus cheap mods
hi, my dad's mate has an ea for sale for $1000 he's a mechanic (my dad is his boss so he knows the quality of his work) and he's kept it in excelent condition. it's on duel fuel, it's an auto, 6 cyl. my question's are
is $1000 a good price for a good ea?
how much would it be to register in qld?
how much would insurance be? i will be putting a sports steering wheel and a cheap (read supercheap auto $129 jobbie cus i already have one) cd player.
btw i'll probably only get third party fire and theft insurance.
and what are some good air filter's (k&n etc) and how much are they?
and what are some cheap mods.
thanks in advance

Re: good price plus rego and insurance plus cheap mods
FWIW, I paid $1500 for an 89 EA S-pak in Sydney. Body had one dent, but clear of rust and good paintwork, interior, etc. NRMA is quoting me about $320 annually to insure it for $3500.
Re: good price plus rego and insurance plus cheap mods
$1000 for a good well looked after EA is very good.
not sure on the rego, but insurance would be between $300 -> $450 for 3rd party, fire and theft i'd imagine.
K&N filters are generally around the $100 for the panel filters.
other then that, is the car MPFI?

Re: good price plus rego and insurance plus cheap mods
not shure about mpfi, i rang dad about 1/2 an hour ago and he said that it will actually be $900 because it needs a new window and other than that it is roadworthy, the guy who currently owns it was fixing it up for his son but his son bought a celica instead so i know that the work is good work.
300-450 sounds reasonable, i will shop around though.
$100 didnt think filters would be that much, but i guess that will be the cheapest mod...lol.
thanks for your reply's
