i have an Au v8 engine to go in my XW. i don't have an ecu and was wondering if anbody has use an e6x and what they think of it?
Can anybody reccommend another ecu? i was hoping to spend around the $3500 mark for ecu, install and tuning.

The EMS 8860 is getting great reviews. Compared with the e6x, it has more features and is far cheaper. You would be looking at around $2300 installed and tuned. More info at http://www.enginemanagement.com.au/

They have registered dealers all over Australia, they use to be listed on their website but they are not on their new webpage so maybe give them a call to find your local dealer. I am having one fitted to my supercharged XR8 in the next few weeks and have seen 1 other Ford V8 (EL XR8 with 347 stroker engine) and plenty of I6's both NA and turbos with 8860's fitted. I have been quoted $2300 supplied, fitted and tuned from 2 local EMS dealers so I would imagine prices should be about the same all over Australia.

phoned KP performance this am and they want $2600-$2700 fitted and tuned for the 8860 and it is a group fire system not sequential. They guy said the software for sequential wont be out till early next year then it will cost more to fit and tune. i would like to know where he's gunna be spending the extra $300-$400 over your $2300

I have been told the sequential programming is only days away but I'm not counting on it till early in the new year, thats what I am waiting for. Shouldn't be any dearer to fit or tune because there is no difference in wiring etc because it is purely a software update as it already has the 8 injector drivers, but only 4 are enabled.

the guy said it is a more involved process to tune sequential for 8cyl. the $2700 was to install tune now with only 4 injector drivers. i would be more with 8.

Not sure but as far as I was aware, it is just 1 setting that is required to switch from bank fire to sequential.

Just to interrupt here; but whats the differenct between the bank fire and sequential??
