heat problem?

evening all

i have removed my old tatered heat sheild from under the bonnet and it only just occured to me that it might be there to protect the paint on the bonnet?

will it blister??

Ive got extractors on mine, with no shield, no probs yet (2months). But i wouldnt mind putting one on but.
Interested to see what others say...

Yeh mate I'd get something in there ASAP. My dad took his off and after a while the clear coat started to blister off the bonnet in places.

not in all cases
one of my friends didnt have his on for his car for now over 2 year and its finE!
