Has anyone got a orignal Black XD in the shed that they can give me the paint code from I called the Discovery Centre but they are closed on Tuesdays.

Many thanks as I am keen to get the paint on the old girl before it gets any colder.

Iv got a list for the paint codes on all the XD 's
I can't seem to find black

The XA had black and it was called Onyx Black and it's code was B

Correct - it was coded B in XA/XB, coded H in XC, wasn't listed for XD/XE and was coded J4 for EA-ED where it was called Black Pearl.

Thank`s for all that I have just about removed all the light green from the old banger & finished the panel work, flat as a tack and will look good when completed.

Mine (EB1) is called "Emerald Black". Is there more than one "black" colour for EA-EDs then?

"You can pick any colour as long as its black" hehe

Repair manual says C midnight can only assume this is black as there is nothing listed simply as black.This is a very comprehensive Ford service dept type manual for XD .
