after chasing my rattle for a while now, i have found it. The parcel shelf is rattling like hell (everytime my sub thumps, sounds like hitting a tin of nails) and i dont know why.
What i would like to know is how i get the cover off the parcel shelf, the carpeted hard cover that is. I think there is something loose in there (centre seatbelt retractor i think?) and i need to get the cover off to have a look, but i have no idea how... took out the plugs, child restraint etc, but it wouldnt budge... any ideas??
Thanks
Lee

If you mean getting the carpet back - in my ED it isn't secured at the rear (where the window is) so I basically lifted it from the back as the front is glued down tightly...

At a wrecker, I once had a go at removing the parcel shelf off an ED so I could retrofit the proper rear/centre seatbelt to my car. I didn't even come close to succeeding.
Let us know how you go.

JT the parcel shelf is diffrent itself. I was going to attempt it as i had the rear real from the wrecked XR8, but the metal in the parcel shelf is diffrent, not just the cover.

if you have stock rear speakers they rattle coz they arent done up tight so they have some movement in them, but i have the same rattle as well Lee, im assuming its the centre seat belt since its there, that and the light
Oh Lee, I have taken it off recently to change the 8in sub woofer in the parcel tray, its easy as to remove the tray (well slightly reinforced carpet), you fold the seats down, undo any visable screws on the tray itself (should just be them plastic pull out screws), take off the plastic surround that lets you get access into the strut towers for the rear suspension, then you should be able to lift it off... easy as man.. you wont break it
