Re: How long do you plan to keep your BA XR?

The build quality of new cars is generally pretty crap, so I will probably start looking around once the warranty's up.

Re: How long do you plan to keep your BA XR?

More than 5 years. It's a 'keeper'. It's fantastic owning a new car but man does the bank feel it. So after it's paid off, I'm going to play with it and do some SERIOUS mods. Any other car after this baby will probably be purchased 2nd hand.

Re: How long do you plan to keep your BA XR?

I wouldn't mind selling it after a couple of years but Im going to be all responsible and buy a house after paying the car off. Then later on down the track when the 2020 ford falcon xr6tt 1000 valve 4 wheel drive 10 speed 600kw monster is out ill upgrade.

Re: How long do you plan to keep your BA XR?

Something quite appealing about a loose old V8, so I'll keep the Ute until it's rattly, dinted and rowdy as hell (ie. about 5 years). Also Boss HI-PO parts might become half-affordable one day so it'll be rattly, dinted, rowdy as hell and go like mad.

Might finally live up to the number plate (something it's yet to grow into).

Re: How long do you plan to keep your BA XR?

When you drive something you love for so long, I can't understand how anyone can just get rid of it. Rather than spend money upgrading, why not spend the money on superchargers, coil over shocks, tunes, etc etc.

Mind you, theres a lot of people out there with more money than sense.

I reckon even if I won lotto tomorrow I'd keep my XR8. Park it next to the Lambo.

Mines a keeper for life, hence the 2000km oil changes with Helix Ultra.

That being said I'm selling my bike, which I said the same thing about............

Re: How long do you plan to keep your BA XR?

Had my BA XR8 MK1 for 1 year and 9 months and am taking advanatge of run outs to get a MKII XR6T. PS sold my XR8 for $28K with 68,000kms and in great nick (only mods are suspension and wheels). Talk about depreciation.

Here's the XR8 on it's way out to new owner and will post pics of XR6T when I get it next week

cheers

Re: How long do you plan to keep your BA XR?

I'll keep mine for a bit, as i won't have the money to upgrade the wife's car and mine too. But that means that I can mod it when warranty runs out. Would love a 6 speed behind the T.
