I know how many KW's of power the new cars produce but how does that compare to me old XF?

i believe the XF 4.1 was about 90kw when it was new, the EA 3.2 was about the same, and the 3.9 was about 125kw. I think the VN 3.8 was a little more powerful at 130kw LOL
The Holden 253 V8 was also about 90kw on standard cars

Here's a great Ford link for you. "Falcon Facts"..............you can look up all the aussie falcons and their specs...........including engine power output.

XF kW power output:
3.3 = 90
4.1 = 103
4.1 EFI = 121 and a blistering 16.6 on the quarter!

Re: How many KW's do you think an old XF clunker pumps out?

WOW ... 4.1 = 103KW's ... minus fifty percent when running on slug fuel (gas) thats means me old XF's pumping out a whopping 50KW's ... no wonder I was flabbergasted at the power of the BA I took for a test spin.

So even if i get a gas job at 156KW's I'll still think I'm at bathurst in a V8 supercar after driving a bloody tortoise with wheels for the last ten years

Thanks for the info

leaded xf was 103, post 86 was 97.5 (love those decimals car makers use so as to make sure you know about the extra half a kilowatt. Wheels pulled a 16.9 on quarter with efi xf s pac 5sp manual, ghia auto efi pulled 17.0

mjy gas 4.1s go as good on gas as petrol, somethings wring with yours for big power drops.
a new 4.0 will absolutly destroy even a good XF motor while running on LPG, i have an XG 1995 falcon also with 4.0 shizz on my crossflows and of course still on gas
