Bought myself a new car using the olds money (dont even know what the payout is on the EA yet). Got a 1997 EL Fairmont, its a red colour (might be called sparkling burgundy? I dunno, it looks schmick but) stock as a rock, tan coloured velour interior, not a mark in the interior....few chips in the body, no rust, decent tyres, standard fairmont 15in wheels, all the usual extras like climate control, trip computer, cruise etc etc
I paid six and a half grand.
The only catch was its k's. Done a shade over 200k but comes with log books and service details are impeccable.
To say im stoked is an understatement, this cars way nice......i was hoping for a ED Fairmont Ghia with the money i had, but i ended up with this EL!
The EA i had stolen ended up having its auto blown.....so its definately getting written off. I put the estimated 4 grand from that, plus a grand from tax, mum and dad put in the rest. I pick it up tomorrow, will spend the weekend giving it the once over, get it rego early next week. Will definately get a digital camera and post photos!!!!!!!!
Yay!
Will still be known as sikEA, in a mark of respect (sob) to my old ride.....and sikEL sounds ghey
Spanaird, will stay with sikEA i think....i been here too long to go changing.
Im back with a stock car again, will start slowly adding bits like i did with the EA, Stereo is first on the list, followed by extractors, exhaust, suspension etc etc
This thing sits pretty low, im thinking it might have been optioned with Tickford suspension (note its definately not a Ghia) is this possible? And did a LSD come standard? I havent yet really gone over it.....cant wait till i can though :)
Yes, it is possible to have been Tickford optioned. However, if it is it should have some indication of it on the car somewhere, though not definate (owner could have requested no badging, etc.
Anything you want to know just run the numbers past Ford. As for LSD, I know they were standard in the Ghia, but I'm not sure about the "base" model:)
