I wasn't aware that XA Fairmonts were JG34? As I know XB Fairmonts are JG34. Both my XB Fairmonts were/are JG34.

what does hi- comp mean is it a 2v head?



Paint = Summer Gold? yeah more like poo brown

Trim = Saddle? same as above

In an XA it's possible it's an 2V head.

Easy to see if it is a 2V head ,look at the manifold and if it has separate "tubes" curving from the carby, it will be one.
Also the manifold is a separate,bolt on, one.
If not , and the manifold is part of the head ,then it is a normal, cast iron, super reliable 250 cubic inch power plant of 4 liters capacity.
With the pertol prices going up and up, this is a reliable ,non thirsty alernative to a V8, never mind what yer mates say, as they do not have to pay the running costs.
Saddle trim is babypoop brown,

No 250 hi-comp means normal compression ratio rather than the low compression ratio designed to run on low octane standard petrol.
