Just wondering if anybody else has illuminated power window switches in their XR8. I was under the impression that XR's are not supposed to have them but mine does. I've heard of another XR8 having them but have never seen or heard of an XR6 having them. I think they should be standard in XR's as trying to find them in the dark is a pain in the arse as the other XR's I have driven didn't have them.

not sure what model xr8 you have, i own a au xr8 and it had illuminated power windows switches on all four doors . dunno if this is of any help. :-)

no illuminated window switches on BA XR8 Ute. And damn it is a pain! Having said that, I think it is piss poor having no illumination for cruise control and audio controls on the wheel too.

Mine is Sept build XR8 - no illumination. What exactly is illuminated, does the light shine through the switches themselves, or does light shine around the switches? Both the switches & the surround on mine is black.

The little arrow's on the switch glow from a light behind the switch itself,
I think Laminge hit the nail on the head with this one it's all about dollar's.

Do the people with illuminated switches have premium audio like I do cause that might be the reason some have it and some don't.

They were removed as a running model change in much the same way they were in the commodore. It saves a few cents and the beancounters hope you don't notice it.

Don't know if the Ford is the same as the holden but in their case they didn't change the switches but simply removed the extra bit of wiring.
