Hi All,

I've just added some transmission fluid to my XF Falcon (3sp Auto) and have put in some Castrol TQ 95 that I used on my '93 Fairmont. Now after adding it, I then realised it said DO NOT USE in BTR Models 35, 40 and 51 three speed transmissions.

Now the correct fluid for the XF is a Dexron II. I've searched around and found that the difference between the two fluids is the TQ 95 is a mineral based fluid, where as the other is synthetic. On the castrol.com.au they mention the synthetic being of higher performance than the mineral, and I can't find anywhere there being a mention of damage to the transmission if mineral fluid is added instead of the required synthetic.

Anyone have any advice on what I should do? The car wont be driven until i can safely come to a conclusion as to what to do.
