Hi guys, I want to get my '98 EL XR6 lowered on the 17" AUII XR wheels (which have been made to fit).. How much should I expect to pay for a decent legal job? And how far have y'all lowered your cars? I want it low but not too low or illegeal..

Got mine lowered with king springs 32mm (inch and a qtr).

Cost $400.

Worth the money. Would have lowered it more but insurance wouldn't accept it.

Lowered coil springs are approx $120 for each end, plus fitting.
I prefer Lovells, however most of the bigger brands are fine, K-mac, King, etc.

I also prefer single rate springs over progressive rate.

A normal lowered spring will drop a car approx 35mm, next step is approx 50mm, and any lower than that is frought with danger as far as legalities, insurance and hitting the bump stops is concerned.

My XH ute is lowered approx 45mm.

Pedders charge like wounded bulls. No bull. How come in Adelaide, a pair of Kings' is $130 and Peddars are $160. Gold plated?
