Installing new rear speakers on AU2?

Have just picked up a pair of JL Audio 5x7's to put in the rears of my AU2 sedan. Havent had a proper look under the boot yet, but can anyone tell me if the new speakers can be installed from inside the boot area, ie. just unhook and replace the existing ones, or, do the new speakers need to be installed by removing the rear shelf inside the car? (If so, how is this done?)Cheers, Mark.

Re: Installing new rear speakers on AU2?

from memory unlip the cover off the parcel shelf undo the 4 8mm(ithink) nuts from in the boot area and thats it.. i mounted my speakers to 12mm mdf and screw it from the top with the mdf spacer and speaker from underneath (boot area).. i then reclip stock speaker covers back on top.. ithink i found the covers interfering with mid and tweeters wich stockers didnt have if i isntalled the new speaker from the top
