Just a quick one re insurance. Have ordered BA XR8 & my insurer (CGU VACC) just wont insure it even though I have been with them for over 7 years as a rating 1 driver (& I'm over 30)!! Needless to say, they are going to lose my house & also my contents policies due to their short sightedness.
I have been looking around & it seems NRMA will do the best deal with a $650 policy. Anyone else have problems with companies that just wont insure the XR8. Who does everyone use & how have you been treated if you have to make a claim.

I pay $1800 for mine (23 yo, rating 3), so you don't have it that tough.

We pay $750 to insure our BA GT.

l am 33 and rating 1, my wife is 28 and we live in country Vic. Thats with the RACV.

I entered into an RACV co-driver policy with my old man for my EF XR8. It cost me $1300 this year (I am 22) and my Dad and I are both rating 1. When I got the car (as a 19 y.o) they wanted $3600 without the co-driver policy...and that was the cheapest quote! Don't worry about the insurance $$$'s just enjoy the new XR8 and dont prang it.

I'm with SGIC. And I'm 26, I own an EB XR8 (see sig below) and pay $550 per year full comp. I'm not sure of the mods declaration.

I've had to claim before and have had no trouble with them when doing this as long as your upfront with them.

on a rating 1 i am 28 from sydney and got 2 quoats $1850 and $2025

Try Ford Insure, with being 25 and having a GT I found them about the only people wanting to touch me and also $300 cheaper than NRMA
