Wink Ive Had My Bottom Measured, Machined & Now Ive Stuck Things In It!

Heres the progress on the bottom end of my 4.0L, Bottom end has been machined and bored, New lightn'd weight race pistons, race bearings, race gaskets and seals.

One problem when I was sinking the first piston into the block the side of the piston cracked, very disapointed need to get a new one. Oh well shite happens.

Damn the piston cracked when you put it in the block?!! Gotta be happy it did it then and not after the engine was together and running!

Nice thread title, I was a bit worried there

So you'll be taking the piston back and complaining loudly eh? They'll probably replace the complete set, whic'll be favourite: like NZ said, you don't want them disintegrating in the engine! And if one cracked that easily, the others may when you start it up....

good job so far. what brand rebuild kit did you use?ACL Race series? also did you get the block face surface ground or milled? because it looks a bit scratchy if you know what i mean.
