A ford dealer who worked on my car put 8 guage fencing wire around the solenoid gasket to hold it together. Didn't tell me. It was only by coincedence another ford dealer found the temporary fix. When I contacted the first dealership they made all the excuses under the sun. By the way this is a 2003 BA. Ford Australia says it is not their problem.
PLease tell us who the original dealer was. I think we should be warned before we book our cars in. (Mine goes in for 60K on thurs..hope they do good job)

Ah.. Sinclair Ford Penrith. The same dealer who apparently is totally unable to perform a wheel balance. They tried twice on mine.. I then took it to a tyre place and they said it was the worst balance they'd ever seen.. one of the fronts were out by 70grams.
Is anyone out there able to recommend a quality service department in the Western Sydney area ?
Trinity ford tells me its the soleniod under the rocket cover & a metal gasket holds it in place .All i say was a piece of wire holding it together job done by tville ford ...
