Question Lining up a EB and ED....battle of the brothers..whos gonna win?!?!

Hey,

my bro just got a 94 ed gli. We are yet to line ourselves up against each other, and we were wondering who would come out on top...

My bros car is 94 ED, 4L, extractors etc, K&N 3 and my car is EB 3.9L extractors etc K&N. both have standard diffs

BOTH are MANUAL and lowered.

I know the boxes b/w EB and ED changed ratios, so this is where I feel either of us will win or lose....

wot do you think?

An interesting one. The ED had a taller ratio than the EB series II, but it might actually be the same as the original EB. It will come down to his ED having more power, but the EB weighing less. Let us know the outcome.

They would be REALLY close, and will come down to condition of the car, any additional weight, driver expertise etc

Looking at only the specs and none of the variables mentioned above, I would say the ED, but your just gunna haveto test it :)

btw dragging is bad mmmkay

Based purely on the stats, I would put my money on the ED, but not by much!


But as Rmyers said, it's gonna come down to car condition, driver expertise, etc.

So if you want to win, I suggest you practice hard, and you should be able to beat him!

I think it will come down to whoever has the guts to powershift their cars.
So the question that remains is, are bragging rights worth a new clutch? :-)

LOL @ XWGT...both clutchs are relatively new so i dont thin k either of us will be flat changing!!!!

Definately not....its a 20m sprint up the driveway to the garage...


I think I'll have him to 100 since he would have to shift into 3rd (where as me would only need second) but over the quarter I think he may just get me!

Did gli's come with LSD standard? (we haven checked her out yet, she is gettin serviced and some small stuff fixed up atm)

why would the ED need to shift to third? My auto does well over 100 in 2nd. Is it cos its a manual?

White ED falcon, 2.5" redline zorst, pacemakers, 1 muffler, hi-flow cat, XH snorkel and K&N filter, 17" wheels, clear side and front indicators, king springs (low).

I did a search and read that with 3.27 diff and ratios of box it will need 3 gears to 100 instead of 2
