Little 'Pocket' Hidden in BA boot

I don't know if this is common to all BA's, but I just noticed that at the top of the right-hand shock tower in my boot there is a little flap that you can lift up, which reveals some sort of small access area or indeed a little storage area.

Has anyone ever noticed this before, and/or figured out what it's purpose is?

LMAO@porno stash!

I'm 50/50 with the boot's topography (note, note a typo for pornography), it is useful for stopping things such as bottles of grog rolling around, and the extra depth is handy, but (whinge whinge f@#&in whinge) it looks odd, "unrefined", and is a pain in the ass for storing flat things like papers/ironed clothes, that tend to get crushed when something else in the boot squishes them into the nooks & crannies.
