Re: Longest ownership of your Ford??
My first car was a '77 Buick Regal. I bought my first Ford in '80 after it got totaled. I then bought an MG Midget which got wrecked a few months later and bought a '76 Chrysler Cordoba. Every car I've owned since then has been a Ford product except for an '84 Mazda B-2000 pickup. The longest I've owned a Ford product or any other make for that matter is the '88 Ford Escort Pony I bought in September '93. It had 146K miles on it at the time, I'm still driving it almost 18 1/2 years later and it currently has 518,5XX miles. I currently own 6 Fords 2-'88 Escorts, 1-'94 Escort, 1-'97 Escort, 1-'02 Escort and 1-'96 Contour. Over the years I've owned GM, Chrystler, Ford, Mazda and MG and have been better satisfied with the Ford line for dependability than any other brand I've owned. Other than the Fords I currently own, I've owned a '76 LTD and a '76 Linclon Mark IV, but my dad owned all Ford products except for 1 car since I can remember. The first car I remember him having was a '61 Falcon, afterwards he owned a '66 Fairlane, '68 Mercury Montego, '68 Falcon, '74 LTD, '94 Escort (given to me by mom after dad's death) and a '99 Mercury Grand Marquis. Mom still has the '99 Grand Marquis. The only car that I remember dad owning that wasn't a Ford product was either a '78 or '79 Buick LeSabre he bought used, he had more trouble with it than any of the Fords he ever owned.
