I bought my EL Fairmont 2 months ago, I paid $8000 for it privately.
The cars got 135000 k's on the clock and drives like a dream.
Buy one privately, but make sure you get it checked by RAA/RACV/.. etc.

I bought an EF over a year ago privately, and I only paid $6250.
Car is in awesome condition and drives really well.
Even my mechanic said I got an awesome deal.
