Hi all, I just purchased an ED futura and realised the engine looks slightly different to my previous ED Gli Classic. My Classic had 4.0L OHC on the engine block and my futura has only OHC on the block. Is this normal? Is my futura engine still a 4.0L? I just wanted to know if this is the correct engine my futura came with. I have photos of each, the first being the Gli classic and the second being the futura's engine.

That looks like the correct motor for that model.

Those engines have issues with oil leaks from the tappet cover and also suffer from head issues if the owner fails to use the proper coolant.

Remember Keep the coolant up and service regularly

Thanks mate, cheers for the extra tips, I'll definitely keep an eye on my coolant level & oil leaks!
And sorry I forgot to upload my current falcon's engine which ive done now, and i just wanted to know if this is right for an ED and it looks different to the previous photo i uploaded which was my old ED's engine, the one only says OHC and my previous one says 4.0 OHC is this right??

Yeah mate that is still the correct engine.
Some have the 4.0 OHC while others have OHC only.

the 4.0 OHC should be the more modern engine with improved oil seals on the tappet cover (they still leak though)
The multipoint fuel injection should be the same along with the other hardware the only real thing that should be different is the tappet cover.

The engine number will match most of the VIN number.( Drivers side rear, near trans.) If you were curious. Only EA had the crappy 3.9.
