Typical ex-taxi... except if it's got a 6 litre donk it might be quite a sleeper.

Re: Low Klms LOL

I'm quite surprised it has so many K's on the clock... most Taxi's retire after about 500 000Km (3 years). Well thats here in Queensland at least, dunno bout the rules where you live.

I almost bought a VS Commodore ex-Taxi for $4000!

Re: Low Klms LOL

Buy it then rip out the back seat. You'll get all the money you paid for it back.

On the topic, I saw an ED ex-taxi with around 900,000km on the clock being wrecked at Pick a Part last time I went.

Re: Low Klms LOL

your pretty much on the mark heritage. my old man was a taxi driver for 27years, had 2 valliants, 1 chrysler, 1 vk commodore, and 1 xw, 1 xa, 1 xc, & 1 xf. he sold the fords to another taxi driver who would use them as a taxi then my dad would upgrade to a new model, every one told him this is better or that is better but he never had any probs with the fords as a taxi so he kept on buying new ones. his never had to take the head off any ford his had in all the time his been driving a car here or driving a taxi!

he tried out the vk between the xc and the xf, with in a month the head was off and the trans was ****ed!!

he stopped driving for a while then went back to it and bought an AU, which has done 136k and still hasnt needed anything except a power steering switch and the general servicing bullshit.

White 1988 EA Fairmont Ghia ~ Gassed ~ EF camshaft ~ Lowered on super low king springs (not low enough) ~ 2.5inch cat back exhaust system with one muffler ~ Clear indicators ~ Simota POD filter ~ New head built for gas ~ 3.23 open wheeler diff ~ EF XR 16inch rims ~ pioneer deck and rear speakers ~ sony front speakers ~ kyb shocks

driving a 3 speed auto with no second gear!!!

Re: Low Klms LOL

Some people say Ford taxis give Ford a bad name, but when you read how reliable they are, and the mileage they can do, I reckon it's good publicity.
