According to Drive theres a good chance LTD will get a retuned version of the XR8s 5.4 Quad cam.

yeah i think DR XR is talking about a small article in todays Age. It just has a pic of the failane caught in Newcastle I think. They go on to say how Ford are pulling out all stops on gizmos and luxury and that there is a good chance that the boss260 COULD be in the LTD. But most likely it will be the 220kw version.

But heres hoping.....

I will type a bit of the article.

Details about the interior are sketchy but expect Ford to pull out all stops to make them the most well-equipped and luxurios versions ever.
There are fewer questions under the skin.Both models Inherit the full scope of the recent BA upgrade, including the new IRS,Tiptronic Auto,and Drive by wire setup.
It is not yet known how the BA powerplants will line up in the revised range.
Fairlane will more than likely be powered by the same 220kw 5.4 litre,24 valve V8 found in Fairmont Ghia, while the range topping LTD could possibly use a retuned version of the 260kw, 32 valve high performance V8 unit for more grunt and exclusivity. Watch this space.



Also a brief frive of XR8 but no times and they claim Whilst it feels good it does'nt feel any or much quicker than SS and XR6T is just as quick.

They might just be thinking LTD has had more power than Fairlane with the current versions so it could be the same with BA. Would be good.

what do you guys think about is sharing the the front lights and bonnet etc? i think the NL Fairlane/LTD were the best looking and they shared the same lights etc didnt they? for the rear treatment i reckon they should do a similar treatment to the new Audi A8 with lights continuing into the boot lid, but not full width. and please, not too much chrome

also, will both Fairlane and LTD have the silver tint headlights or a they going to make the Fairlane a sporty and the LTD a luxury?
