I have an AU111 XLS V8 ute that I'd like to improve the performance of without spending too much money. It's my daily driver, and I was thinking that the local exhaust shop could improve the sound and it might even improve the fuel economy. This got me thinking.... what are the differences between the XLS and XR8 engines? Is the EECV computer identical?

The exhaust, roller rockers and cam might be the only difference and possibly the cold air intake.

This is part of a email I received from Tickford after I bought my au2 xr8 ute."The 5.0L engine is, as you mentioned, hand-built at Tickford. We start with a base 175kw and add to this a unique camshaft and roller rockers, plus a cold air intake, extractors and sports exhaust, and recalibrated computer." (That was a 200kw engine).
