Hi

I will soon have a BA XR6NA - I would like to get just a few more kw out of it without doing major mods - I would be happy with say 10-15kw. I would like to keep it street legal and as always do not have too many dollars. My plan so far is as follows: - any comments and suggestions aprreciated.

1. Use 98Ron petrol - ? worth about 2-3kw
2. Use a better Air filter - ? worth about 2-3kw
3. Use the Turbo snorkel (? Legal) - ? worth about 1-2kw
4. ???????????????
5. ??????????????

I'd recommend either a BMC or k&n panel filter...there is negligible difference between the two, so go for whatever is cheaper.

Then add a full 2.5" exhaust.....easy!

bolt on a cat-back exhaust - most ford dealers will supply for around $600 and u can keep warranty. Should be good for about 8rwkw.

As i have had a "03" BA XR6 the things to do are :
1. SS cold air induction system, with the top cut back. (legal) $350/400

2.BMC panel filter or K&N filter (go BMC) $130

3.Herrod 2.5" complete system, this inclueds headers & high flow cats $2300, OR start off with just the headers and work it from there.

The thing is you need to get the car breathing right, and a small inlet isn't going to do the job, steps 1 & 2 are the easiest to do, and will give the quickest resaults.

Pacemaker have also now got a good set up so give them a look !
