I went and had a look today at a 93 ford xr6 (manual), white in colour, down at my local andersons auto. The car looked really clean and sounded good when we took it for a test drive. We organised an racq inspection for tuesday and they will be taking it there.

Insurace with just cars quoted me $293 3rd party preperty which im pretty happy with. The only set back is they have the price of the car at 10 grand, and i think its only worth 8 grand. Oh btw it has 165,000kms on the clock.

How do you think i could get the price down? Say ill pay cash, tell them about the empty service history?

$8k is still a bit high for an EB\ED XR6 IMO.

Sounds like me about 6 months ago... ive got a ed xr6 and its my first car... theyre a great car and i garantee u will love it!!! i paid 9k for mine so ten isnt too bad... around 8 or 9 is the usual these days.... best of luck! :s6:

I agree with X.treme.F.ury, I think thats pretty high for what sounds like an EB.
I think you should wait. I paid less than 10 for my EF with similar k's. Look around, wait and be prepared to pounce.

Always get the trading post on the thursday morning and call them all.
There's always a bloke who has no idea what he's driving and doesn't want much for it because work gave him a car.

70-80,000kms and it would be a good buy, then again if the car is in good nik and you don't want to wait around forever until a suitable XR6 comes your way, go for it.

Personally I'd be hunting for an EF or EL XR6. Hmmm. EL. What a model!
