guys,
in the latest motor mag, it states that the MkII xr8 has 3.7 diff n the xr6turbo has 3.4 diffs, but then later on the page it says the opposite! whats the deal?

coz i was sure that the new turbo had 3.7, but this might have said otherwise, if it didnt contradict itself! what do u rekon my chances are of swapping the old 5 speed and diff in for the 3.7s and new 6 speed at the next service!

The first one would just be a typo in the article.
XR8 has 3.46 and XR6T has 3.73. So if it follows the same pratice as Mk1, that means FPV's will also have 3.73.

In one of the recent Wheels or Motor mags they did a comparison between the DJR320 and the HSV GTS. At the time of doing the test the Falcon had the 3.73 diff in it and they found that it had affected the 0-100km/h and 0-400m in a negative way. The 0-100km/h time was in the high six's and the 0-400m in around 15s.
It will be a marketing nightmare if this happens to the MkII cars...

Only because the higher ration diff in the 5 speed meant an extra gear change before 100 and before the 400m mark.
The differing ratios in the 6 speed should (hopefully) fix this problem.
