The Mods Have Begun!

Today I started some major modifications to my car:

Replaced passenger front seatbelt stalk
Oiled steering column to stop little squeek
Replaced Speedo gear to fix odometer

Now I might go and dyno her to see how much these changed the power and torque curves!

Total Cost for these performance enhancing modifications was $35
Awesome! Recommend these to everyone who owns a EA/B/D Falcon!

lol

Re: The Mods Have Begun!

I bought a second hand cluster from an EA GL and pulled both clusters apart and then switched the two speedo sections of the clusters. Although some people say to jsut replace stripped cogs or some such thing, but I thought this would be easier.

Re: The Mods Have Begun!

hmmmm, I have a gl cluster in the garage (though the odometer on that is stuffed too) might pull it out and see if 2 dodgy odometers can make 1 good one.

Re: The Mods Have Begun!

on a more serious note car is going into the shop on wednesday for removal of a section of 2" pipe bottlenecking my 2.5" system.
I was quoted $75 for about 2 foot of 2.5" pipe welded on and a rear resonator added, which I thought was a very good price?
And in the next few weeks will be sourcing some thermofans which I believe are $180 from Ford?
And then a standard cam that I can get reground. Where is the best place to find just a singular cam?

Re: The Mods Have Begun!

Are you saying that brand new EL thermo fans are $180 from Ford? How much will it cost to regrind a cam?

Cheers.

Re: The Mods Have Begun!

Yep, EL ones. The cheapest I found them elsewhere was $180 at Ozwreck in Bennet St Dandenong and Just Falcons in Bayswater.
