More BF info on Ford's website

Got this via email today:

Dear Chris,
Improving power and performance in some of Australia's best cars takes a special kind of thinking. And you'll find evidence of it throughout the soon-to-be released Ford vehicles.
With high tech engine improvements, performance has improved significantly, but then so has the fuel economy. A new world class German-engineered 6-speed automatic or improved 4-speed automatic transmission contribute to the reduced running costs. And a smoother drive with more energetic performance that's now even quieter.
It's amazing what a bit of Ford thinking can do.

Hehe...I signed up for their update notification too. Unfortunately, there isn't any new info yet- just that site. I'm very much looking forwards to more info being released though...

Looks like either two throttle bodies or intake trumpets. It's just a cartoon- i wouldn't read too much into it.

I dont think they will be big sellers unless the price of fuel goes down.

Re: More BF info on Ford's website

Gezzzzzzzzzzzzzz tghats one very angey car.
Best ford i have seen
Petrol Its still very cheap for what it cost to get
Its STILL cheaper than a bottle of water and you can get that for free but people still pay a stupid price for it.
petrol is the least of your problems
wait till they put the emmissions tax on then you WILLLLLLLLLLL have some thing to scream about.
Any vehicle prior to 00 will incur a tax of $4000.00 plus your registration
Latest GT'S etc will have a tax per year of $2/2500.00 per year
This will follow the truck licence
this is going up from $1500.00 per year to a min $15000.00 to $30000.00

Re: More BF info on Ford's website

Yeh damn straight poor uni students...I'll have all that on top of the $2500 i have to pay per year for insurance (and thats with the beast in mums name).
I think it's an absolute joke that there isn't some other form of fuel being looked into- ETHANOL. If you've ever been to north east QLD, you'll see how much sugar cane there is growing (growing VERY WELL too) and how much ethanol could be produced from the byproducts of table sugar production.
Contrary to popular belief, it's not that difficult to design an engine to run on ethanol. Also, ehtanol has a RON of 115 (NOT MON- that scale only goes to 100) now compare that to our top level premium of 98 and consider how much ignition advance and compression you could run with THAT.
Oh..the other advantage of Ethanol- it's produced by trees taking carbon dioxide from the air- ALMOST a neutral fuel.
I'm not saying make changes to every car built and remove petrol completely- just design future vehicles to be compatible with it. We could produce our own fuel and send profits to AUSTRALIA for once.
