My EF Falcon 6cyl sends a lot of vibration through the car while ideling in gear (auto). If i put it in neutral the vibration pretty much stops. When its cold and ideling faster the problem isn't as bad. Also if i give it some throttle while in gear to bring the revs up it stops vibrating. Any idea what the problem could be??? The only thing i can think of is it's ideling to slow. How fast should it idle in park and in gear? How do i increase the idel speed if this is the problem? Thanks for the help the other day too re the noisy fan.
dirty/nearly shagged sparkplugs? injectors maybe? You wouldn't wanna increase the idle rpm to cover another problem. (heck we used to do that with our paddock bombs, and they're mostly all dead now) Then again i'm rarely ever right with these things and I should probably just let psycho chicken handle it lol!

It is 99% nothing more than your engine mounts are rooted.. It is not the idle just go and fit some new engine mounts and the problem is solved :)
the oil dampner inside starts to fail causing a bad vibration at low revs (most pronounced at idle with a load ie: in gear) Due to them being a 'sealed unit' you can't tell if they are r**ted when you look at them, but you can sure feel a dud one
hmmm, sunny has the same problem with the EA he just bought. We turned the idle up but I wouldn't recommend it. It just means the idle shoots up over 1000rpm when in 'N' or 'P'. Had to turn it back down.
tibbo, we did the foot on the brake and floor it test to see if the engine twists much, and it didn't move much at all. Would it be the same problem in the EA u reckon?
