Question More Sports Cluster Questions

Hey,

I just installed an S-Pac cluster into my ED GLi. All is well (gotta love watching those revs wind up!) except a couple of problems.

Firstly, the oil pressure goes off the dial. I know why etc I just need an oil pressure sender - are they expensive? Hard to wire up?

Secondly, is the light on the left (see pic) the low coolant warning? How do you remedy this?

Thanks guys. If I can get it all working fine, I will make a tutorial for dummies like myself.

Cheers.

Re: More Sports Cluster Questions

All you have to do is replace the oil pressure sender with one from a higher model. ie one that had that cluster originally.

Yes, thats the low coolant light. I don't know if GLi's came with the wiring to hook one up or not, but i'm sure it wouldn't be hard. Otherwise, just pull the bulb out of the cluster.

Re: More Sports Cluster Questions

Yep low coolant. Remedy: Add more coolant

Or add the sensor in the washer bottle

Is it hard to add the sensor? Do I need to wire it up?

Re: More Sports Cluster Questions

There is a threaded part on the bottle that appears to serve no purpose. The sensor just screws into the bottle. You may have to cut the plastic out to get it in.

Re: More Sports Cluster Questions

I did the same thing a little while ago.
I just got a sender from a wrecker for peanuts. That fixed that prob.
The coolant light however i couldn't be fukt fix'n so i just pulled the bulb out.
Apperently you just need a sensor that goes into the side of teh coolant res tank and hook up to the relevant wire, couldn't find it so gave up.
i say just pull the globe out, your coolant aint goin no where....i hope.
