Hey PPl....

I got an alarm, immobiliser and central locking kit for my ea. Heheh what is funny about is is how the central locking works. I find it pretty kewl.... what do you guys think.

Heres what it does.
You press the button on the keypad to unlock the doors. One you have entered the car and you start the car, all the door lock again. Heheh... when you turn the car off all the doors open!!

Is that hi tech or what!!!

WHat do you guys think?

can u still open them when u have the engine running and want to pick someone up?

This is a good anti-jacking measure fitted to quite a few alarms these days. And yes, you'd still be able to unlock them manually.

the VY calais have this function, it can be turned off if you want though

The cheap keyless entry system I installed in Mum's car had the same feature. On this one, the door locks were operated by the brake lights, so when you first hit the brakes after you got in the car they would lock. The unlock ran off a signal from the acc +ve.

Pretty nifty feature, even though we ended up taking that system out, because it didn't compare at all to the original Ford security system

Yeah my alarm is a Micro car alarm. I am in melb. When fitting it you can tell the guys, where i got it done www.garryscaradio.com.au to put as many points on the immoboliser as you want. It has antoi shock as well. Its a quite good alarms system i think, if you just want to prevent idiots form braking in.
In my opinion professional car thieves will always get into ya car if they want to. Its just the teenages who dont have morals that you need to stop.
