g'day guys, i just had a 3.73 lsd installed into my ba futura. i know i have to fix the speedo and was wondering if anyone has done it before. I'm also interested that when under hard acceleration the car seems to bounce off the rev limiter rather than change gears. (auto)
any suggestions, how anyone went about it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance guys.

yeah, as of this morning i can safely say that the speed is not measured at the gearbox, instead it is measured at the wheels (paced dad's car). But this doesn't solve my gearchange problem. the diff joint told me to ring herrod... i might give them a buzz.

ROFL, sounds like me!!!
I got a GT-P BA FPV and changed the centre from 3.46 to 3.73 (AUTO) and yes the speedo is running off the ABS sensors, meaning you could shove 4.11's in there and ur speedo would be correct, but change the rolling diameter of your tyres and it would be out.
this doesnt help your prob with the changing of gears, well My GT-P does the same thing, in first it will accelerate untill it hits the revlimiter then about a second it changes gears, but each gear sits on the rev limit a bit longer, i have a tiptronic Auto box, so if i want to push the car hard i use that, there is no fix atm.
I believe the only way to fix this problem (what i have been told) is to take it to a transmittion place (one that u really trust) they drill out the valve to get the trans to shift quicker (shift kit) no one has had this done that i know of and i dont know if it truly works, I havn't had this done because i simply dont trust the Apprentice Mechanic with my car!!!
if ya wanna chat more pm me ya number, what state u in?
hope this helps :(
just my oppinion herrod wouldn't have a clue, but if ya get anything outa them let me know...
Would an edit not help this? I thought it did. But maybe it isn't the cheapest option!
the only way to adjust the shift is to get into the computer and (from the info i got from a ford dealer) there is a list of differentials, so if you were able to get into it with the codes that no one has!! you could change the listed diff ratio and being an electronic box it should fix it. But the trouble is no one has broken into the stock factory computers yet
Look in the ECU forum, there is heaps of details about the edit. CAPA and Herrod sell an edit..., also think BPT does as well. It can and does do amazing things. It costs $1295 dollars or $1297 dollars depending on whether you get it from capa or herrod.
