Those of you who have been following my GT hunt will know I was looking at an xbgt hardtop in sandstone biege. Well, last night I went and picked it up.
Needs a bit of work mechanicaly. Its running like a dog at the moment. But that wont be for long hopefully.
Just thought I'd let yas know I bought her.

If you're looking to join a GT club (not sure if Sydney or Newcastle is closer for you) send me a PM as I'm a member of the Newcastle club & would love to see that on some runs.

VERY nice!!!! The mechanials is the easy bit to fix.
Yeah, it will eventually get a respray. but thats will be the last thing.
First is going to be a new cam and possibly extractors.
The guy I bought it off did some wierd stuff to it. Old bugger.
He has removed the kick down rod from the carby that kicks the auto down when slowing down.
He has removed the original cam and put a milder cam in it than original, so consequently it it aint got no go really. He also, removed the original heads and put fairlane heads on it. Not sure why.
Also, he said he had the original heads at home and he gave them to me, I had my mechanic look at them and they are 302 heads.
He has also wired a boot release button to the dashboard.
All in all though she's beautiful. Sure gets some looks driving around.

Congrats mate. The trick with these is.. NICE AND SLOW! All the best with the rebuild mate. Not really a fan of the colour but that is why I like it so much!!! Don't see too many in that colour anymore.

Well, there are only 10 sandstone biege Coups in this color. Ie Paint code 9.
Some time in 74' sandstone biege changed code, but it also changed color. So I think E was the sandstone biege color code changed to. But it is a different sandstone biege color.
Which is why you wont see virtually any in this color.

sweet ride mate, it looks real tidy. they sure are some strange things the previous owner did, he must have been building project "Grandpa Coupe." I'm sure you'll return the coupe to its desirably tuff status though (mechanicals), already "looks" tuff.
oh, and you can actually go a milder cam than standard, wtf?
Yeah well done Black, we would've all wanted to slap you if you hadn't bought it after telling us so much about it, well either that or ran around trying to buy the car for ourselves.

Good Luck
Yeah, thats what I thought.

Well, IF I didnt end up buying it I would have let everyone know about it and gave them the opportunity to. But that was never going to be a problem. i remember you all telling me to buy it as he may change his mind. That never really worried me till two days before I bought it. Then started hearing voices in my head.
